San Fransisco at the Pier

More San Fran

San Fransisco Baby!!!

WOW, San Fransisco is such a cool city!! Just the right spot for us to soak up some culture!! Amy was such a good tour guide! We went to the Golden Gate Bridge, the beach (finally!!), and climbing around at the Cliff House where we found crabs, sea glass and sea shells. We also cruised around on the muni, subway and city buses. We went up hills and down hills. We went down the crooked street. The weather was so nice and sunny that we didn't even see the fog. But all the people were out at Delores Park so we got to see jugglers, slack line walkers and eat street dogs on crepes! Eli and Finn both got to try the slack line too. San Fransisco is a very colorful city with fantastic things to see and do--thanks Amy!!

Jelly Belly Tour

From Georgetown we headed south to San Fransisco to visit Amy. Of course, we had to stop at the Jelly Belly Factory to find out how they make them so yummy! Did you know they really have flavors like vomit, buggers and earthworms???? Thankfully we were not the lucky ones chosen to sample these creative flavors to verify how close they taste to the real thing---yuuuck!! It did seem like something out of Willy Wonka Land and the murals made of Jelly Bellys were cool to see too!

Family

One of the trip's biggest highlights was when Chris's sister, Shanna, her three boys, Treu, Terrhan and Teshan, his other sister Christal, and her mother, Judy, all came up for the day and the boys got to meet their cousins and Aunties for the first time! Again, it was a beautiful warm day but there was just enough snow left over for a battle royale snowball fight complete with four wheelers and golf carts! What a blessing!!

Georgetown CA

Then we were off to visit Grampa Eli and Grandma Re in Georgetown CA. We had such a nice visit with them and got a lot of much needed bonding time in. We went panning and sluicing for gold with a real gold miner, got a ride on his bike, and got to listen to him sing and play guitar. Although we were certain we were going to find just enough gold to fund the rest of the trip, we only found a chunk of fool's gold.

It turned out to be one of those unseasonably warm days at Lake Tahoe and it was so much fun to hang out with Marn, her friends, and her alterego, Marniqua.
A dollar goes to the first person who can tell us the depth of Lake Tahoe.

The Polar Plunge

Somehow Chris got talked into taking the Polar Plunge into freezing Lake Tahoe--burrrrr!

Tahoe CA

We finally made it to Marn's in Incline Village NV where we got to relax and also enjoy the hot tub on the deck! Boy does that feel good!!

Cruising through Nevada we learned real quick why this portion of the Pony Express Trail was so

trecherous!

4-24-10

Well, we made it home safe and sound! We are excited to be home and also sad that the trip seemed to go so fast. It was really such a blast and we are so thankful that we made it through with only minor injuires, no car troubles and a ton of fun expreiences and memories.
You probably noticed that there were no new posts for quite a while, but honestly, it was not for lack of trying! We were so frusterated at how difficult it was to get an internet connection on the road. But we would like to share our trip with you so we will add the posts now.
