Keep On Keepin' On

We are doing it again! Tomorrow we head out on another adventure in the Scamp. The excitement has been mounting as well as the stress level. It seems the closer we get the more "issues" that arise. No worries though, we know that this is all part of the journey, part of the balance, part of "working for it". It all seems to work out somehow.

On our last adventure, we went to the snowy mountains and hot dessert of the Southwest, this time we are going to the forests, swamps and beaches of the Southeast. Last time some of our most favorite times were visiting with friends and family along the way. This time, however, we will be missing everybody and know nobody along the way. Thankfully though, nobody is a stranger to Chris for very long.

The first half of our journey entails:
Illinois to visit the John Deere Factory
Indiana to try to do some tornado clean up
Kentucky to check out the Cumberland Gap, coal country and sample some real moonshine
Tennessee to see the Great Smoky Mountains
Georgia to visit some civil war sites and go to the Savannah coast
Florida for beach combing, snorkeling, alligator wrestling

We are making no promises in keeping up with this blog but we will do our best ;) Promise.

Please keep us in your prayers.

A favorite quote that has been in our heads lately: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the things you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain

Also, Chris wants to know two things: What are the gun laws in Georgia? Does anybody have any tips on noodling?

  3. So jealous! Hope you have the most memorable time, and make life long friends on the way. I am sure you won't be taking the direct route and that is where you will discover the folks that are the most like the O'Dell,s. Be safe, and know that you all will be in our prayers. The Carroll's

  4. I know a lot about "Ka-noodling". It's an Australian thing...but I think you already know how to do that.

  5. In reply to Chris' questions:

    1. In Georgia, their reply would be: "what's a gun law"?

    2. The key is weight distribution and the more creative you are with configuration the more fun you will have.
