wow

We were sent to one of the worst hit areas, the entire town had been flattened. It was inspiring to see the outpouring of volunteers and donations. Our assignment was to.clean up fallen trees and debris. The boys were amazed by large branches that had been driven into the ground with such force that they would need a tractor to remove them.
One of the highlights was meeting and talking with the fire fighters and hearing their stories. One of the houses we worked at was one of the fire fighters whose house was spared but surrounded by devastation. He had been working so much helping everybody else he had not had time to clean up his own yard. It was a good day of hard work and we were so thankful to have had the opportunity to experience it.
After all that work on such a warm day, we we were in dire need of showers so we.packed up and moved to a campground with a one toilet/one shower, which luckily is also a storm shelter because we are in a severe thunderstorm. Is it ok to lock the door while showering during a severe storm when the same room may be also needed as a storm shelter???
We are all clean and snuggled in bed, looking forward to exploring cliff falls tomorrow.
