daddy can I PLEEAAASE catch him?????

The okefenokee swamp. Teaming with alligators and mosquitos. We rented a swamp boat and stephanie had to deal with her deepest darkest fears as the boys put together their alligator bait. We knew there were big gators in there because there was an 8 footer right by the boat before we even got in. The swamp had a fire in 2007 that is still burning in parts today. The water is the color of strong coffee. The cypress trees are beautiful, draped in Spanish moss, growing out of the dark water. The narrow water channels were overgrown with trees, Lilly pads and sunken logs, making it just wide enough for the boat to pass through in spots. Every 8 feet or so we saw a gator. As we got more brave we inched the boat closer and closer to the gators. most of them would just slip under water and disappear, a couple biggies hissed at us, standing their ground with us only a few feet away and one actually, honestly charged us and chased us into the water, and then followed us until we motored away. Stephanie was terrified, the boys thrilled.
